our mission

Accelerate Health Equity (AHE) is a Philadelphia-based initiative aimed at eliminating disparities in healthcare and advancing health equity through a unified city-wide approach. Our mission is to improve health outcomes for underserved and marginalized communities in our region by identifying and addressing the root causes of health inequities through rigorous research, targeted healthcare interventions, and innovative partnerships between health systems, health insurance companies, and community organizations.

our steering committee

AHE's Steering Committe consists of representatives from 14 leading healthcare institutions across the city of Philadelphia, including payers and providers. This innovative partnership brings together leaders and changemakers to help dismantle racism within our city’s healthcare system to improve health outcomes for Philadelphians — this goal is vital to the well-being of our city as a whole.
 

A Conceptual Model: Factors Affecting Health Inequities

Accelerate Health Equity is guided by a conceptual framework informed by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute County Health Rankings Model, which identifies the intersecting factors impacting life expectancy and quality of life and the overarching impact of racism and discrimination.

We will develop an implementation playbook to enable scalability of solutions across institutions and communities. The playbook will describe innovations in stakeholder engagement, resource mobilization, optimal workflows, best practices, and detailed protocols.
