Temple University Hospital (TUH) treats the largest number of firearm-injured people in Pennsylvania. When we think about the medical treatment of firearm-injured patients, we must consider a holistic approach to treatment that takes trauma into account — for both the patients and their families.

A year since our launch, we are excited to share our inaugural annual report on the progress we have made alongside our AHE partners and collaborators. In this report, you’ll learn about our multiple city-wide projects, first series of grant recipients, and pilot programs and initiatives, many of which are housed within individual AHE member institutions.

Our team sat down with Dr. Aditi Vasan, lead investigator on IGNITE Kids, to learn more about the study and how economic and environmental interventions can help children across the city achieve better health outcomes.
